The Butterfly House will be a year old on the 15th of July!
Since first opening it’s door back in July 2016, The Butterfly House has proved to be extremely popular with visitors and it is quickly becoming a firm favourite with both adults and children alike. This amazing purpose-built hothouse is now home to hundreds of the most stunning butterflies in the world and over the last 12 months over 140,000 people have been able to visit Landmark Forest Adventure Park to see them close-up as they hatch, fly and feed on nectar on fruit. Not only can visitors check out these beautiful butterflies, but they can also now see some Asian Quail (our latest addition) scuttling through the undergrowth.
In order to mark this very special occasion, we will be running some additional activities in the Butterfly House on Saturday the 15th of July:
- Face Painting (£1, with proceeds going to the Butterfly Conservation UK and Highland Hospice)
- The Butterfly Hunt (see how many of our species you can find and tick them off your list).
- Q&A Sessions (ask our team at the hatching cabinets about our butterflies, moths, plants and birds).
We will also be providing visitors with some flowers that have been sprayed with sugar in order to help attract butterflies as they make their way around the hot-house.
